Starting Strength:
Squat 5/5/3 @ 100 lbs (3rd attempt)
Press 5/5/5 @ 37 lbs (deload)

I was planning to deload for both the squat and press, but I decided to go for a third and final attempt at 100 lbs instead. I thought since I rested for so long that I might be able to do it. But unfortunately on the 4th rep of the last set I lost my balance when the bar started moving slightly forward and I couldn’t stop it.

And for presses, because there was such a huge difference when I jumped from 42 lbs (easy) to 47 lbs (really hard), I am going to increase more slowly from the beginning. So I’ll try 2.5 lbs increases, i.e. 39.5 lbs next week, 42 the week after, then 44.5, etc.

I’m glad to be back in the gym 🙂 and I cannot believe it’s December already…

  1. I hate it when that happens on BS (bar moving, then balance issue). but thats really good. you will get it iA next time.

    yeah with presses I find it really hard to make progress. I think if you do stall on the weight, you can try 5 sets of 3, v.s. 3 sets of 5 to change things up too

    I did 2 workouts this Sat and Sunday. It will be a few days before I go back (wisdom teeth)

    I miss working out regularly.
